Spellbook pages and Rome craft show

I've kind of neglected my blog haven't I? I think that Facebook, is also to blame for that! It's much easier to see what everyone is up to instead of blog hopping.
Well, we caught this horrible viral flu that caused everything to ache, nausea, headaches for a week and after 3 weeks I am still getting rid of the last of it. So, I haven't had much inspiration to be creative.

For our European page swap my friend Lynn, is doing a Spellbook theme. She wanted pages that were similar to the ones in the film Practical Magic, containing spells from our country or made up. She wanted an A3 size sheet folded in half to create a signature that will be bound into her journals, making each page A4 in size.

front of signature. There is a spell contained in one of the pockets and the little doll is a Worry Doll.

Inside: I made little scrolls with remedies on them (left)

Jack Daw feathers were added to the page that were actually sent to me by Lynn. Another scroll at th top containing a blessing spell.

I've not had much will to draw either but here is a page I did a couple of weeks ago for a Misty Mawn assignment. This is oil pastels on a collaged background:

Last week we went to the Fiera di Roma, Weekend Donna. This was my  first craft show in Italy and the place was HUGE but the stalls weren't that many and EVERYTHING was really expensive compared to buying the same stuff online. I wouldn't go back to be honest but I did get a few rubber stamps, some scrapbook paper sheets, roving wool ,beads and charms. On the last stall I picked out about 20 little charms and she wanted 35 Euros!! They weren't made of any kind of precious metal, either!  I'll be sticking to online stuff!

Since living in this country I have learned that it is VERY rare that there isn't a catch behind an OFFER! How true. I printed three vouchers to get 2 euros off each ticket. When we got there, we paid 18 Euros and I showed her the vouchers and she said that there was no need for those because she gave us a family ticket. Then, I had another voucher on a stall that had 5 % off their products but when I showed her my printed voucher she said that it was only for products made by them and no other brands .Pffff! As she made up the bill I pointed out that one was a house brand and instead of looking for it on the PC to adjust the price she took 5% off of all of the little stamps that my son bought. So, that was good.
We ate hotdogs at 12.30am and I asked if they could slice my hotdog in half lengthways so that it was easier to eat and put ketchup on. Nope! The assistant said that he wasn't allowed to do that because his boss told him not to because it takes up too much time! He agreed that it was ridiculous but he had to obey his boss even thought many customers had asked him to do the same thing!
This was inside the tunnel walkway that lead to the North side of the building. Quite a bit to walk from the car park .Car park Fee €5

I saw these owls and I would have loved one but they were only selling the patterns and I can't really sew that well. I am sure that the fabric would have been really  expensive, too.

At around 2pm we decided to go home after having our pockets  dented and having not much to show for it and to beat the traffic that would soon jam up as it does on a Sunday with people returning to the city. I was surprised to see fields of solar panels on the way out of Rome. There were hundreds of them! For me, it spoiled the landscape as we are so used to seeing fields of vines or crops. Solar panels are good for saving energy but I'm not sure that the land would be content to have these ugly things on them.
Everytime we go Fiumicino way, we see the large structure and we have no idea what it is !
