Back to journaling

Tomorrow, Misty Mawn's class starts and I have been re watching all of the videos from her previous class 'Open Studio' ,which is still ongoing.  I am pretty excited to get started and have been in a VERY creative mood since the end of December.

Here's what's been spilling out onto my various journals. Oh, I say journals as I have decided to try and  keep 3 on the go ; one for raw sketching, one for journaling and the other for painting. It really does feel liberating and it keeps the creative energy flowing.
If I want to sketch I can scribble away without worrying about having to finish something. If I want to paint I, now have a proper watercolour journal that will take layers and the Journaling book is good for collage and all sorts of mish mashes.

Remember the sitcom 'Friends', and Phobe's famous song 'Smelly Cat'?
This song popped into my head whilst deciding what to write. This was an old painted journal page and i just drew over it with graphite and pen.
I am practising my stippling and scumbling!

This started out as an ostrich but I liked it with Peacock feathers. It was created using watercolours and India Ink using a nib pen. I think that I may become addicted to drawing with nib pens.
Here's another watercolour and ink drawing.  Words from another song!

This is a Sooty owl, Graphites.
It was sketched from a photo of a real Sooty Owl and it is too beautiful not to let you see the real thing. I've never seen such a gorgeous owl

I FINISHED my crochet blanket! It's on my sofa because my little one found it a wee bit itchy so I am making another for him using acrylic wool only.

This is my first (decent) multicoloured, magic,Granny Square blanket! I sit on it when creating :)

  1. Loving your great selection of pages Palma. Your crochet blanket is so cool, very retro in design. Have a great week, Annette x

  3. Welcome back! I love the colors in the first page, but the ostrich/peacock is my favorite.
